Steve Blumenthal
Chairman, Board of Directors
Mr. Blumenthal has over 30 years of business experience ranging from identifying, negotiating, financing, purchasing, contracting, renovating, managing and selling real property as well as other experience in the financial industry. His career began in 1968 with Bache & Company, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange member firm, where he formed, managed and directed the firm’s national tax-advantaged transaction activities, with an emphasis on real estate transactions. From 1974 to 1980, he was a consultant to a real estate equity management firm that owned and administered approximately 4,000 multi-family residential units throughout the southeastern United States. In 1980, Mr. Blumenthal founded Synchron Corporation to purchase develop, operate and manage residential and commercial properties. As a principal he has been successfully involved in all aspects of real estate ownership, including: construction, sales, management and rental. His interest in cancer research stems from the loss of family members to this disease and he will serve the Company on an unpaid basis. Mr. Blumenthal earned his BS in Business from the SUNY Buffalo.
George Vergis, PhD, MBA

George J. Vergis, Ph.D. President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Vergis of Neose Technologies has served as president and chief executive officer since May 2006, and as a director since February 2006. He joined the company as vice president, business and commercial development in July 2001, and served most recently as president and chief operating officer. From 1996 to 2001, Dr. Vergis served as vice president, new product development and commercialization at Knoll Pharmaceutical Company, a division of BASF Pharma, responsible for the commercial planning, product development, and marketing for the cardiovascular, immunology, and critical care franchises. Prior to BASF, Dr. Vergis held a variety of clinical and medical marketing positions at Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories and Warner Lambert Parke Davis. Dr. Vergis serves as a director of Woods Services, a not-for-profit organization. Dr. Vergis received his B.A. in biology and history from Princeton University, his Ph.D. in physiology from the Pennsylvania State University and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.
Robert Ivanhoe

Mr. Ivanhoe has served as a director of the Company since 2006. He has more than 25 years of experience in the area of transactional real estate and business law and is uniformly recognized as one of the leading real estate attorneys in New York City and nationwide. Currently, Mr. Ivanhoe is a shareholder of Greenberg Traurig, LLP, where he serves as chairman of both the law firm’s New York office and Real Estate National Practice Group, and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, Board of Directors and Operating Committee. Mr. Ivanhoe earned his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and received his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law.
Leonard Litwin

Mr. Leonard Litwin is the founder, President and Director of the Litwin Foundation, a philanthropic organization that provides grants and financial support to a wide array of charities and medical research organizations throughout the world. Mr. Litwin is a real estate developer in New York City.
